Lower income students face disporportionate affects due to COVID-19

Many of these students do not own devices and do not have internet access which are both needed to participate in online schooling. This left students and families having to compromise their education.

It is important for lower-income students to have access to proper education, because education are the building blocks for their future. If the public school system continues to fail to provide the resources needed for an equal education, it is also failing at giving students equal opprotunities for future success.

Segregation and Redlining are still influencing education funding!

Segregation may have been outlawed decades ago, but its effects on communities and education funding are still very present. Due to redlining many communities where many minority families reside have schools that receive a lot less government funding, while a town about ten miles away might have schools receiving a lot more funding. This is why many minority students tend to have a lot less resources when it come to education.
